5 ways to keep your cool whilst working.

As we return to work from the holiday season we can sometimes jump straight back in without being mindful of setting personal work boundaries. These help us to keep our cool under pressure, set us up for a more productive and efficient day and take care of our mental health.

1. Multitasking can cause work to slip through the cracks and be forgotten or not performed with quality.
It often adds to stress. Our brains function at optimal levels when we focus on one task at a time. See if you can remind yourself to focus on one task without being distracted by another before moving to the next.

2. Breaks are important - pretty sure we all know this one well!

3. Accepting that not all things will go our way or are under our control. Rather than focusing on the "should have" focus on adapting and solving problems that arise. Rise up to the challenge and you'll feel all the more proud of your accomplishment and how it was handled with ease.

4. Cultivate awareness, empathy and compassion for yourself others.
Keeping yourself and your team in check, noticing when someone needs a break, isn't having a great day or maybe the team needs a pep talk to reconnect.

5. Valuing your time is an important boundary many of us forget to set.
Ensure you block out time for your breaks and your focus time, not allowing yourself to squeeze in every single teams meeting if you're in back to backs.
